rick galloway
Singer / Song Writer
Rick was born May 21 in Baltimore, MD. He received his first guitar while in grade school. A lasting memory is walking into school, guitar in hand, and playing 'Tom Dooley' to the class during 'Show and Tell'. 'I didn't even know how to tune it much less play any chords. I just strummed and sang the verses'. Growing up in a military family offered Rick the opportunity to play in a lot of bands in a lot of places. At the age of 16, while in Huntsville, Alabama, Rick was introduced to recording studios, where he cut his first demos 'Change Your Life' and 'Crying Over You'. He recalls playing at gas stations in the afternoon (for a tank of gas) so they could drive to Tennessee that night to play a paying gig. Upon returning to Maryland, Rick hooked up with some local musicians and began playing the pubs of Baltimore. After working the local area venues for several years, Rick took a long break. He has mellowed over the years. His songs are the reflections of situations, observations, and events that have stuck with him through the years. Presents the songs in a mixed style of folk, country, blues and easy listening. Rick writes and records his songs from his studio in Taneytown, MD.
